Rojas leads the growth and consolidation of Promigas as a widely-acclaimed organization that groups together 21 companies engaged in the transportation and distribution of natural gas and liquefied natural gas, electricity distribution and marketing, integrated solutions for industry, and non-banking financing business in Colombia and Peru.
Prior to joining Promigas, Juan Manuel Rojas was Corporate Vice-President of Strategy and New Business at Ecopetrol, where he was responsible for defining the entity's strategic vision for developing its business in Oil & Gas, electricity, and other energies.
In the course of his career, he has held executive and consultancy posts and worked as a professor and lecturer at renowned universities. He has been a World Bank consultant on energy projects in Africa, Bolivia, Honduras and Brazil, and was Deputy Minister of Energy in Colombia in 2000 and 2001.
Rojas is an economist and holds Masters' degrees in Economics from Los Andes University and in Public Policy from Harvard University.
He has 22 years' national and international professional experience in the energy sector, having worked in public and private companies in Colombia and South America.
Prior to this role, she was Colombia's Ambassador to Uruguay as well as Permanent Colombian Representative to the Latin American Integration Association/Asociación Latinoamericana de lntegración (ALADI)
Ms. Abella has also held the roles of Colombia's Minister of Transport, Secretary General of Colombia's Barranquilla district, and Chief Executive Officer of Transelca, S.A., a company which provides electric energy generation, transmission, and distribution services to customers in Colombia.
Natalia Abella Vives holds a Law degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia with a specialization in Corporate Law, Conflict Negotiation and Management, and Domestic Public Services.
She has also participated in Leadership programs at Harvard University, a program on Management for Lawyers at Yale University, and Decision-Making Strategy at the University of Pittsburgh.
Since joining the company in 1985, he has held the posts of General Manager of Gas Natural Comprimido (Compressed Natural Gas, today “Gazel”), Administrative Vice President, as well as other positions within the Company.
He has served on the boards of various industry associations including the Barranquilla section of the ANDI (Colombian Association of Industrialists) as well as Promitel, Cálidda, Gases de Occidente, Surtigas, Gases del Caribe and others, companies within the Promigas investment portfolio.
Mr. Fernández Malabet currently serves on the boards of the following companies: Promioriente, Promisol, SPEC and Transmetano,.
He received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colombia’s Universidad del Norte and completed studies in strategic marketing and Industrial marketing management in The Harvard Business School of Harvard University, senior management in Universidad de los Andes, Colombia, and advanced management program (AMP) and M&A in The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to this role, Mr. Mercado Gonzalez was Financial Vice President at Promigas from 2006 through 2013.
Since joining the company in 1986, he has held the positions of Financial Planning Manager, Investments Manager and Vice President of Investments, among other positions at Promigas.
Mr. Mercado Gonzalez is currently a member of the boards of several companies where Promigas has investments, including: Gases de Occidente, Surtigas, Gases del Caribe, Companía Energética de Occidente and Transoriente. He is an independent member of the boards of the Organización Radial Olímpica S.A. and the Dann Regional finance company.
He received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia as well as a Master's degree in Financial Management from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands and an MBA from the Universidad de las Andes in Bogota, Colombia.
Since joining the company in 1992, he has held the role of Operations and Control Center Coordinator, PSI General Manager (Oil and energy service company – Promigas Group), HSE Manager, Operation Manager, as well as other positions within the company.
He has directed several projects regarding the construction of gas pipelines, infrastructure, and gas compression stations, all of which add up to 400 million dollars.
Mr. Villalba McCausland holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia with a master’s in Engineering Project Management. He also holds an Executive MBA from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia as well as a Corporate Strategy diploma from University of California, Berkeley.
He began his professional career in 1989 at Empresa Antioqueña de Energía (EADE) and then joined residential public utilities company Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) where he held various managerial posts relating to energy sector regulation and markets.
Mr. Chinchilla Herrera holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Colombia with specialization in Gas Engineering from the Industrial University of Santander and in Industrial Organization and Economic Regulation from EAFIT University.
